Not only is he a producer, but a director, screenwriter, actor, and film historian. He recently produced Shutter Island and Hugo, and is known for directing memorable films like Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Mean Streets. He is truly dedicated to the world of film; He founded the The Film Foundation and the World Cinema Foundation. Due to his heavy participation in film, Scorsese has won numerous awards including an Academy Award, a Grammy, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and many others. Curious to see his acting skills? Watch out for his cameo in Taxi Driver. It’s very quite impressive. Oh, Stanley Kubrick. What a great producer, indeed. It is always great to be exposed to a producer who introduces odd films to his audiences (I believe these are the best films one can watch). Disney has earned the most awards and nominations than anyone in history. Pop culture was heavily influenced in the 80′s due to Simpson’s films. Some of these include Flashdance, Top Gun, and Beverly Hills Cop. Him and his producing partner, Jerry Bruckheimer, won Producers of the year by the National Association of Theatre Owners. Throughout his life, he received three Golden Globe Awards, two People’s Choice best picture awards, and earned numerous nominations for and Academy Award and Grammy. Now that we have covered Simpson’s success, it only seems fair to include his producing partner. Throughout Simpson and Bruckheimer’s partnership, they were given fifteen Academy Award nominations, two Oscars for Best Song, four Grammys, three Golden Globes, two People’s Choice Awards for Best Picture, and the MTV award for Best Picture of the Decade. Separate from his work with Simpson, Bruckheimer was very prolific in television. He produced 86 different works and is known for being the producer of the popular shows CSI, Without a Trace, and The Amazing Race. Paramount, Disney, CBS Television Studios, and Warner Bros. all helped in his productions. Did you know he produced all of the Pirates of the Caribbean films? Two more films in the series have been announced, and he will be producing them as well. back in 1902, Zanuck was born into the world of early film. He definitely caught on to the new medium and earned three Academy Awards. As one of the kingpins of Hollywood’s studio system, he was the last to go. During his participation in the studio, he produced some of his most famous films: How Green Was My Valley, The Grapes of Wrath, and Twelve O’Clock High. He originally worked for Warner Bros., but quit to follow his own path and break away from just being an employer by creating Twentieth Century Films. George Lucas is best known for his creation of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. In high school, it was his dream to become a drag race car diver, but this dream failed due to him being in a terrible accident. But when one door closes, two more open, right? This saying definitely applied to Lucas’ life. He has worked with Steven Spielberg, was nominated for four Oscars, and was declared one of America’s most financially successful directors/producers. Spelling is credited with 218 production titles. 218! His anonymous production company holds the record for the most prolific television writer. Some of his successfully produced television shows include The Mod Squad, The Rookies, Charlie’s Angels, and Beverly Hills 90210. Four Star Productions, Thomas-Spelling Productions, and Spelling-Goldberg Productions are the companies he co-owned.
